Copied ChatGPT text has messy line breaks or formatting?
AI answers may include Markdown markers such as # headings, **bold**, and > quotes. When pasted into a blog or document, uneven line breaks and spacing can take extra editing. Paste it here, review the cleaned result, then copy.
Why formatting marks remain in AI text
Tools such as ChatGPT and Claude can use Markdown to show structure. A plain text field may display the # before a heading, the ** around bold text, or the > before a quote. Paragraph gaps and line breaks may also need tidying.
Paste, review, and copy
- Copy an AI answer and paste it into the source box.
- Choose two sentences per paragraph, one sentence per paragraph, or keep the original paragraphs.
- Review the result, make any edits you need, and copy it.
What gets cleaned?
- Markdown heading and bold markers are tidied.
- A leading
>quote marker is removed. - Unordered list markers
-,*, and+become bullets; numbered lists stay numbered. - Repeated spaces and paragraph gaps are tidied; code blocks and tables are preserved.
Does it rewrite or proofread the text?
No. Text Tidy formats the text you paste; it does not send it to a generative AI or rewrite it. Korean word spacing has a separate optional helper. Review the output before using it.
Is pasted text uploaded?
No. Text is processed in your browser and is not sent to the server. Usage analytics record page paths and button events, not the text itself.
